I am a native English speaker (American) with both a B.A. and an M.A. in German, with specializations in early and mid-20th century German history, interwar and postwar political movements, and their portrayal in German literature. I have been translating on a casual basis for several years and would like to pursue it as a career. My degree coursework was focused primarily on the analysis and interpretation of German art, literature, history, and culture, and often included composing academic papers of up to 20 pages in the German language. I am also particularly well-versed in health, fitness and medical topics, as a byproduct of athletic training, advanced first aid training (civilian and military) and courses in medical terminology. My skill level in both my native and target languages, combined with my research capabilities and background knowledge, give me a degree of flexibility with regard to the type of work I can perform.
