Bio
I am an ATA certified freelance RU-EN translator with 25+ years of experience. With a BA and MA in Russian Language and Literature, I spent 13 years in Russia gaining near-native fluency. I have worked in academia and government, with diplomats and as an in-house translator at a global law firm. Before returning to the US, I earned an MA in Interpreting in London and have been working as a freelance translator. I am motivated, loyal to regular clients, and able to work alone or as a team member with other translators and editors. Confidential and security conscious, I am also green and solar powered. When not working as a professional translator, I research environmental science, ethics and law to protect the natural world and adapt to climate change. I am open to collaborating with other humans who have similar values and goals--including on translating Russian nature writing into English.
