Hello everyone,

I am a native Italian speaker, fluent in English and German and have a basic level of Russian. I don't have a degree, but I have been working remotely for about a year with a translation agency.

Hello everyone,

I am a native Italian speaker, fluent in English and German and have a basic level of Russian. I don't have a degree, but I have been working remotely for about a year with a translation agency.

I would like to improve my education in order to find a job as an in-house translator, especially in the field of video games. Are there any widely recognised courses or degrees that I can do remotely?

I live in a small country that doesn't have great educational opportunities and I can't afford the costs of moving, so if I could find something remotely it would be perfect.

As a player myself, it would be a dream come true to be able to work for Square Enix or Rockstar Games, but as I have no experience in the field my CV is simply being rejected.

What would you recommend me to do?

If anyone has already successfully undertaken this career and would like to write to me anyway about the studies or courses they have done even if in other cities, I would be very grateful, that way I can get a better idea.

Thank you for all your answers in advance.

One thing to be aware of May 10, 2021

Some of the big ones don't localize in-house. There are specialist companies that provide localization and language support for game devs, even the billionaire ones.

I am aware of this, and I thank you for this information.

Not all companies think this way though, at least from what I read. Rockstar, for example, has an open position for Korean localisation and some time ago had one for German.
