Hi,
I had same problems and I did what you suggested. ie converting file in rtf then accepting all track changes and reconverting back into Word and it worked. Great
Incidentally, if I did not do the conversion into rtf first, it would not work, God knows why

I am trying to align two 6-page files which are pages saved from the EU website:

I saved them as html, then Word, RTF, back to Word, opened them in Notepad and removed unnecessary symbols, etc.. Every time I tried to align them, the "can´t process RTF format" message appeared.
WinAlign says it accepts html, rtf, and Word, among other formats, so why the error messages?? ▲ Collapse

Trados had no problem analysing that version. Another funny thing is that it would NOT work on the intermediate rtf file I created in the process.

Had the same problem today when cleaning up. Mikhails solution seemed the quickest one so I gave it a try first and it worked. Really crazy. But thanks a lot Mikhail, you saved me from a crisis today.

This is what I did for a similar problem. Opened the file in Word, opened first segment, copied Source, closed segment and saved the file. Then I translated it using Tools> Translate, and it worked.

We had the same problem with WinAlign, but discovered that the old version of WinAlign had not been removed during various SDL Trados upgrades. Simply making sure we used the latest installed version solved the problem for us.

Just simply re-save the file on your PC platforms solve the problem(352575064).
Whenever I encounter the same error, I do this first and it works.
I first got this error 8 years ago, and I still get the problem.

You probably have Kaspersky or an antivirus that have to be configured so the workbench is a trusted application.
My problem was for both reorganizing and translate/analyse rtf files.

Had the same problem today at the clean-up stage - none of the solutions proposed above worked for me.
I finally found a workaround...I cleaned up the document with Wordfast ! Using the free version, I created a new TM that got updated during the clean-up, that went without any problem, then I exported the TM it created and imported it back into my trados TM.
It's a bit of a DIY solution but I hope it may help !

Hi,
- Close the Clean Up window as we are going to use Word Macro.
- Press Alt+F8 and select (tw4winClean.Main) and click Run.
This will solve the problem but will not update your TM.

Hi everyone! I've tried all the solutions you offered but none of them worked! I've just installed Trados on my computer and it is the first time I'm trying to analyze, although I've done it many times in other computers.
I think the problem is the option TRADOStag XML Workflow for Word .doc files (Translation Memory options - Tools)
I can't mark this option, it is grey, you know, and can't select it.
Does anybody know why or how could I change this?

Your are exactly right Marta Bernar,
I have come across with this problem several times before.
And the only simple solution for this problem is, just to save the document as .rtf, it will solve every thing.

Marta Bernar's solution worked for me.
Being curious, I tried _just_ to accept the changes, without saving as rtf and again as doc. That worked, as well.
