In the example below, second-language learning is just a random context for my purposes. The important part is that people seem to use transformative motivation "for empowerment or to transform some aspect of their life."

Apparently, this turns into "transformational motivation" if it goes beyond the call of duty, inspires others and/or is directed towards a greater good..
