Innebörden beskrivs ganska bra här: här https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nesting_(process). Det handlar alltså om att placera mönsterdelar eller dylikt på ett sådant sätt att man utnyttjar råmaterialet optimalt.

Just i mitt fall används det om tryckteknik/utskrift, och då handlar det i stället om att trycka/skriva ut flera objekt på samma underlag, och däevid se till att placera dem på lämpligt sätt för att uppnå minimalt materialspill.

Min text är ett patent, och egentligen tror jag att förklaringarna ovan säger bättre vad det handlar om än nedanstående citat: "wherein the arranging of the decorative pattern on the decoration layer and the another decorative pattern is performed by a nesting method"
