Source text - English General Average and Salvage shall be payable as provided in the contract of affreightment, or failing such provision or there be no contract of affreightment, payable at the Assured's election either in accordance with York-Antwerp Rules 1950 or 1974 or with the Laws and Usages of the Port of New York. Provided always that when an adjustment according to the laws and usages of the port of destination is properly demanded by the owners of the cargo, General Average shall be paid accordingly.
In the event of salvage, towage or other assistance being rendered to the Vessel by any vessel belonging in part or in whole to the same Owners or Charterers, the value of such services (without regard to the common ownership or control of the vessels) shall be ascertained by arbitration in the manner provided for under the Collision Liability clause in this policy, and the amount so awarded so far as applicable to the interest hereby insured shall constitute a charge under this policy.
Translation - Russian Издержки по Общей аварии и Спасению возмещаются в соответствии с договором фрахтования, а в случае отсутствии в договоре такого положения или отсутствия самого договора фрахтования, такие издержки по выбору Выгодоприобретателя возмещаются в соответствии с Йорк-Антверпенскими правилами 1950 или 1974 года либо в соответствии с Правилами и Обычаями порта Нью-Йорк. При этом непременным условием соответствующего возмещения Общей Аварии является надлежащий запрос диспаши собственником груза в соответствии с правилами и обычаями порта назначения.
В случае осуществления работ по спасению Судна или груза, буксировочных работ или иных работ, осуществлённых в отношении Судна, судном, полностью или частично принадлежащим Собственнику или Фрахтователю, то стоимость таких работ (без учёта общего владения судами или контроля над ними) определяется арбитражем в порядке, предусмотренном положением об Ответственности за Столкновение с Другими Судами настоящих Стандартных Условий, и сумма, присужденная таким образом, в той мере, в которой она относится объекту страхования, застрахованному по настоящим Стандартным Условиям, подлежит возмещению по настоящему страховому полису.

Having graduated from one of the best law schools in Russia with a diploma of both a lawyer and a legal translator I then worked for several international companies as an in-house lawyer and contract drafter but than I decided to switch to freelance translations.
I am familiar both with the Roman and the Anglo-American systems of law, making my translations both flexible and precise.
A strong grounding in classic Russian literature was part of my upbringing, which has certainly trained my sense of language and style, crucial to making a translation natural and fluid rather than just accurate.
