I graduated from Dublin City University with a Masters in Translation Studies in 2007 and since then have been working in Barcelona, firstly as an in-house translator in a translation agency and since February 2009 as a freelance translator, mainly working as a translator of academic texts with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
In 2004 I completed a B.A. in Spanish and French at Trinity College Dublin, which encompassed core modules in literature, textual analysis and translation. The M.A. in Translation Studies further developed these modules and heightened my sensitivity to the linguistic, cultural and intellectual issues involved in translation. I also acquired excellent researching skills during the B.A. and the M.A. as I presented a dissertation for both.
Over the past ten years I have gained practical experience in the field of translation which I now combine with my academic knowledge. My translation experience is quite varied, ranging from informative, educational and general translation to medical and scientific translation. I also work with subtitles and audiovisual translation.
