Es war ein Mann, der übte den wenig angesehenen Beruf eines Unterhaltungsschriftstellers aus, gehörte aber immerhin zu jener kleineren Zahl der Literaten, die ihren Beruf nach Möglichkeit ernst nehmen und welchen von einigen Schwärmern eine ähnliche Verehrung entgegengebracht wird, wie sie in früheren Zeiten, als es noch eine Dichtung und Dichter gab, den wirklichen Dichtern dargebracht zu werden pflegte. Dieser Literat schrieb allerlei hübsche Sachen, er schrieb Romane, Erzählungen und auch Gedichte, und gab sich dabei die erdenklichste Mühe, seine Sache gut zu machen.

Until the 1990´s, only the most creditworthy of issuers could issue bonds in the international markets. Governments unable to obtain investment-grade ratings on their sovereign debt were restricted to borrowing from banks or from domestic credit markets. Companies in these countries were excluded from the international debt markets as well because, with few exceptions, the rating agencies impose a sovereign ceiling, meaning that no borrower in a country can be rated as high as its national government. If the sovereign debt of the national government was deemed to be a poor credit risk, the country’s corporate debt was automatically treated the same way.

El punto de partida, la plaza de San Esteban, será fácil de encontrar próximo a El Collado, centro neurálgico de soportal y pequeño comercio por donde caminan, compran y pasean de arriba a abajo los sorianos (en él se encuentra, bajo uno de sus porches, el Casino al que Machado dedicara poema y cafés). Así, y con el plano en la mano, un círculo de atención inexcusable marcará la iglesia de San Juan de Rabanera, hermoso templo declarado Monumento Nacional.

The starting point is the plaza “San Esteban”, very easily found near “El Collado”, a busy spot of arcades and small stores where locals go shopping or go for a walk (in one of its arcades you’ll find the casino, Machado´s coffee spot that gave him inspiration to his poems).
