I know you keep an archive of all past webinars, but how would I have access to this one? Would there be a cost involved, since I only recently became a corporate member? Please advise as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Claudette

To clarify, attendance at this event is restricted to verified, approved client side (end client) localization professionals, C-level executives and decision makers.

regards,

Drew

Forum: ProZ.com virtual conferences
Topic: Virtual conference for end clients (2010)
Poster: Drew MacFadyen
Post title: Target audience for global translation consumer event

Good questions Madeleine.

We are working with media partners Multilingual.com, ClientSideNews and Lisa.org to help promote the event. Our goal is to attract companies that are consuming translation services which ideally means they would be outsourcing at least a portion of those services. Of course the event and the sessions, networking opportunities and more would be valuable to those working in localization in an in house capacity.

We are targeting C-level executives that are involved in the decision making process surrounding localization and translation services, but we may allow anyone at a company that is involved in localization and translation services to attend. The content will be geared towards, and be most beneficial for, C-level executives.

We will require registered attendees to complete a questionnaire and provide details on company size, annual volume of localization and translation services, likelihood of purchasing services in the next 12 months, and attendee level of involvement in the purchasing decision.

We have a limited capacity for attendance at this event and may use the registration questionnaire to filter attendance so as to ensure those attendees that fit our target profile are able to attend the event.

We do have planned sessions and panel discussions on MT that will allow attendees to direct the discussion.

Hope to "see" you at the event.

Regards,

Drew MacFadyen

Forum: ProZ.com virtual conferences
Topic: Virtual conference for end clients (2010)
Poster: Madeleine MacRae Klintebo
Post title: A few questions

1. What type of end-clients is this conference aimed at? Those who:
a) outsource all localisation
b) outsource some, keep some in-house
c) have a localisation team in-house
d) other

2. At what level, within the end-client company, is this aimed?
a) the person responsible for actual localisation management
b) those planning new projects that will need localisation
c) other

As someone who works in-house I often encounter colleagues in other departments with little understanding of what localisation actually involves, I would find this an interesting subject for my colleagues if it involved educating them as to what localisation actually involves and why Google Translate can never be a substitute.
