Military Service Records
O MSR é um documento oficial do tempo de serviço nas forças armadas. Não é o certificado de dispensa ou incorporação. É um registro completo das atividades militares durante o tempo de serviço.

: Unless someone can prove otherwise, there's no such document named "Military Service Certificate", and "Military Service Record(s)" is too vague. There is a number of military records available. See info from the VA on the DB. // Nada pessoal. Está errado

Cara, você é inacreditável. Eu recebi oito mensagens de comentário editado, novamente tentando defender a sua resposta com 1 agree e negar a minha com 3. Um dia você vai perceber finalmente que isso é inútil.

Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty (DD Form 214)
This is how I would translate this “certidão” into American English.
PROOF OF MILITARY SERVICE (DD 214)
Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty (DD Form 214)
(…) A DD Form 214 proves military service. Obtaining a copy is essential if you want access to many of the benefits and services available to you. Often referred to as the Report of Separation (freedom documents, promotion to Mr. or Ms. citation, authorization for liberal grooming standards, etc…), this document contains very important information necessary for accessing benefits, retirement, employment, and membership in Veterans Service Organizations.
THE INFORMATION DISPLAYED ON A DD-214 INCLUDES:
Date and place of entry into active duty
Home address at time of entry
Date and place of release from active duty
Home address after separation
Last duty assignment and rank
Military job specialty (MOS)
Military education
Decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign awards
Total creditable service
Foreign Service credited
Separation information: type of separation (ex: honorable), character of service, authority and reason for separation, separation and reenlistment eligibility codes). (emphasis added) https://servingtogetherproject.org/resources/dd-form-214-cer...
Please note: the length of service is determined on the basis of the entry date and the release date.

Note added at 1 hr (2023-06-17 17:10:59 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
If you prefer, you can use this unofficial name for the document: Proof/Certificate of Military Service.
--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 1 hr (2023-06-17 17:43:26 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
Good to know:
“The report of separation form issued in most recent years is the DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. Before January 1, 1950, several similar forms were used by the military services, including the WD AGO 53, WD AGO 55, WD AGO 53-55, NAVPERS 553, NAVMC 78PD and the NAVCG 553.” https://www.archives.gov/personnel-records-center/dd-214
--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 23 hrs (2023-06-18 15:30:42 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
What is a DD214?
The Defense Department issues to each veteran a DD-214, identifying the veteran's condition of discharge - honorable, general, other than honorable, dishonorable or bad conduct. https://dd214.us/
--------------------------------------------------
Note added at 1 day 3 hrs (2023-06-18 19:53:32 GMT)
--------------------------------------------------
Please note: Because the DD214 does not exist in Brazil, it’s better to leave it out. I suggest using the Portuguese term in brackets:
Certificate of Release or Discharge From Active Duty [“Certidão de Tempo de Serviço Militar” in Brazilian Portuguese].
I think this is the safest route, it uses a term that is familiar to an American reader and gives the Portuguese counterpart, which can be easily translated on Google Translate for the literal meaning.

: This is from Brazil, not the US.//You're missing the point. The document is from Brazil, so you can't translate it with the name of an American one.

In this particular case, there is a counterpart document, so it's best to use an English equivalent. For instance, you don't translate "Carteira de Habilitação" as "Habilitation Card" but "Driver('s) License" (US) or “driving licence (UK). Get the point?

Já o “Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (Form DD 214)” é para quem prestou o serviço militar! (“A DD Form 214 proves military service.”)
