neutral Barbara Cochran, MFA : Not the correct register for an academic text like this one. Besides, you failed to answer part of the translation that was requested in the asker's question./Academics never use "plain language" or they lose professional credibility among colleagues.

Even if this is an academic text, which we don't know, what's wrong with using plain English? And I haven't left anything out - I've just been much more concise than you have.

Not literally, of course, but that is the meaning that is conveyed by the phrase "en un nivel bajo".
