My sources for this book have been a mixture of personal experience and exploration, many conversations, assorted verbal leads, and a wealth of written material. One of my intentions has been to make available, in English, information about eastern Almería which has previously only been available in Spanish, often in relatively obscure sources. All background reading is listed in the bibliography.
