Lob pointer In fact, I think it is a 'lob pointer' that indicates the tap position.

Oddly, I'd have called the bit sticking out the 'lob(e)', whereas they seem to refer to the whole gizmo as the lob, and the 'bit sticking out' is called the 'pointer' — no logic there that I can see!

In point of fact, looking at the thing, you could almost think of it as a 'knob' — I'm wondering if this is perhaps just a globally (in!)corrected spelling mistake?!

lob Hi ! Lob comes back several time later in the text : "Position indicator lob"/ "The lob may have to be pried a little to be removed"... I also have a reference (pic - but can't send a link - not on line & too big) : it's a small round piece...

Dodgy English / Typo / scanno? Seems an odd word to find here; I'm wondering if it isn't an error for 'tab' (closest, but least likely) or 'tag' — both of which would make more sense than 'lob' here! It would help if you could give us an idea of what the original language might have been, in case back-translating might help.
