Hi everyone,
I'm having some troubles with the word "bin" in the following paragraph :
"They divide the video in sub-shots and, then, quantize the motion intensity into predefined BINS with assigned sampling rate. Then, key frames are sampled from each sub-shot on the assigned rate."
I have already done some research and right now the translation I have is "fichier" but I am not convinced... I also thought about "binaire"...
Also I am not really sure I fully understood the meaning of the sentence so it's why I'm having difficulites to translate it...
Thanks for your help!

Bins in statistics refer to groups (or categories or classes) of data that fall within a certain range of values. One can think of them as "containers that accumulate data and 'fill up' at a rate equal to the frequency of that data class" (http://www.netmba.com/statistics/histogram/)

The term "classe" seems to be used in French http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histogramme
But I have also seen the term "bin" being used in texts, for example : http://www.i3s.unice.fr/~anthoine/seminairePoleSIS/rendas_06...
