English term

client???

English to German Marketing Education / Pedagogy Education/Schools
I know client = Kunde, but...in a brochure of a local international college, that wants to attract foreign students, reference is made to the students as *clients* (another SILLY politically-correct term!!!)I've researched German VHS and Uni web sites until I got blue in my face, 'cause my "client" instist on using this term. To me, they are STUDENTS. Period. I cannot find anything that would fit the bill. any bright ideas out there????
THANKS!!!

\"Since all students pay for their education in the U.S., they are indeed clients and expect to be treated as such\". Teresa has a very good point here - that\'s the view of an American student. Assuming the brochure is translated to German in order to attract GERMAN students, the brochure should be tailored to their needs and views. And I\'m positive German students view themselves as students, not as clients.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Klaus: I totally agree with your last statement, and I know the education system in North America first hand; but remember this brochure will be read by "potential future GERMAN studends". Therefore, I like your suggestion: "Kursteilnehmer".
