Eine Barriere-Insel ist eine Sandbank die parallel zur Küste läuft und durch eine Bucht oder Lagune von ihr getrennt ist. Barriere-Inseln sind zwischen 10 und 100km lang und 2 und 5km breit. Sie kann bis zu 6m hoch sein.

Nach der von Barckhausen (1969) entwickelten Platen-Hypothese sind die Barriere-Inseln allein aus dem Kräftespiel von Strömungen, Seegang und Wind entstanden. Sie haben sich hiernach vom Entwicklungsstadium periodisch überfluteter Sandplaten, zu teilweise hochwasserfreien Standwällen bis zum Endstadium Dünen tragender Inseln entwickelt.

Pelo que pude apurar, a Constituição Brasileira veda o anonimato, portanto suponho que os próprios tribunais também não façam uso desta prática.
