The EP Budget process usually begins in February with a proposal from the Secretary-General, regarding priority objectives and the required resources for the following year. On this basis, Parliament’s Bureau adopts the so-called **preliminary draft estimates** and submits them to the Committee on Budgets. A member of that committee draws up a report on which the committee then votes. It identifies priorities for Parliament's work and includes suggested budget figures.
