Das müsste eigentlich "idle" heißen (im Sinne von Leerlauf/Stillstand) - mit Billy Idol hat das nix zu tun ;-)
Eine ähnliche, im Englischen auch häufig vorkommende Verwechslung ist die Verwendung von "principle" statt "principal" (oder umgekehrt).
