inspiriert von
Fisch und Rum muss nicht unbedingt das traditionelle Essen sein, so heißt erstmal der "shack" - und darum geht es meiner Meinung nach, um den shack. Das Essen dort ist inspiriert von oder hebt ab auf traditionelle Zusammenkünfte von Fischern.

hier ist das einfache, gerne von Fischern besuchte Lokal (Hütte, Bude) gemeint, selbst in einem wellblech Container kann es untergebracht sein.
In den Großstädten sind diese rhum shacks natürlich aufgemotzt und begehrte Insiderlokale.
So grab yourself a table, get a plate of food - fish, salad, macaroni pie, rice and peas, and hit a rum shack for a bottle of rum, some plastic cups, ...

d.h. in London z.B. hat das Wort shack (Hütte, Bude etc.) nichts mehr von seiner eigentlichen Bedeutung. in Städten sind diese shacks zu aufgemotzten Insiderlokalen geworden, wo man den Rum natürlich nicht mehr aus PVC Bechern trinkt, wie an den Stränden .......
