class load / teaching load

u zavisnosti od toga da li se radi o studentu/učeniku ili nastavniku/profesoru

The class load is computed on the basis of the semester or credit hour, which represents one fifty-minute class period per week throughout a semester or term of sixteen weeks, and approximately two hours of preparation for each class period. One laboratory period approximately two and one-half hours in length is considered equal in value to one lecture period. For registration purposes, comprehensive examinations will count as a two-hour class load.

Under normal conditions a college student is expected to take at least twelve hours of class work each semester. Fourteen to sixteen hours constitute a normal load. Any load below eight hours must have the approval of the College President.

This approach is based on the assumption that the number of teaching hours reflects more or less the workload involved for the student. However, in practice this is not always the case. Experiences in Italy and Spain, for example, show that in the long run this approach is not satisfactory. The same teaching load may correspond to different student workloads
