Old and Middle High German into modern German

Taking the lead from the questions about Latin or Greek: is there a need for translations from Old or Middle High German into modern German? I could think of modern editions of medieval texts. By the same token, how about Middle High German texts into modern French (for example; my target languages being French and German)
