Hello,

Hello,

I was recently contacted by a translation agency. They sent me a translation test, which I passed, and now they've sent me a non-disclosure agreement by e-mail, and asked me to fax it to them in the United States.

This is my first contract of this type, so I'm asking for your help:

The non-disclosure agreement, which I filled in, is accompanied by an appendix, titled "Pricing information". It consists of two tables. The first table lists a range of services in the first column (Technical documentation, HTML translation, Marketing material translation / translation per word), while the second column, Price, is empty.

I haven't been told yet what exactly I'm going to translate, so I'm wondering about these diverse items. Should I fill-in my desired price in the second column or fax the document with that column left blank?

Is this how price negotiations are done?

The second table is a price grid using Trados Workbench, listing reduced word rates.

Thanks,
Dan.

I should just fill in the prices column Oct 30, 2003

It must be a seperate document.
Are you sure it is an annex?

Yes, it is a one-page annex to the NDA document.

Some agencies demand your prices for several services to enter in their database
Even on line forms have such field to fill in.

I think you are right. I should simply fill in my desired prices and probably negotiate the actual price for each contract separately.

Thanks,
Dan
