Description

In this two-hour workshop targeted at language professionals, we'll look at practical editing and proofreading techniques that will enable you to improve client satisfaction and retention. You'll finish the session with a list of tools you can start using right away. You will gain a good understanding of how to price your editing and proofreading services, whether as part of a TEP package or as standalone services.

Many language professionals have a general idea of what editing, proofreading, post-editing and copyediting services may include. That said, translators may undersell their services as they may not fully understand the difference and may fail to explain to their clients what their editing or proofreading process entails.

We'll discuss how to avoid inconsistent editing and proofreading whether translators work on their own translation or provide these services for somebody else's translation. We will review typical editing and proofreading tasks and discuss how to analyze the scope of a project. The workshop will also include proven pricing and negotiation approaches. This workshop will give you the tools you need to help you to exceed your clients’ expectations every time and keep them coming back as your satisfied clients and thus increasing that client's lifetime value to you.
