The thing that I love most in this world is to be told a good story. That story may come from the yellowing pages of an old book, the flickering glare of cathode ray tubes at midnight, or even the tiny screen of a smartphone while I’m gripping a subway’s handrail. Eventually I discovered that there is a way I can create stories like these myself: through translation. That is, rewriting, transcreating, telling these stories in my language the way my friends and I would love to hear them.
I translate from English into Spanish (my mother tongue) and I’m specialized in Audiovisual Translation – scripts for subtitling and dubbing, web pages, software, multimedia, advertising and video games. I’ve been in the translation business for four years, and the bulk of my work experience comes from my time at Kabam Europe where, first as Game Translator and later as Translation Team Lead, I devoted myself full time to the translation of free-to-play browser and mobile video games of different genres, daily promotions, advertising and web pages, in addition to managing a team of in-house and external translators. I’m also an expert in testing and linguistic QA and have completed a Masters in Audiovisual Translation at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, where I acquired the particular skills needed for my specialization thanks to the best Spanish professionals in the field.
Now I’m flying solo, and I’m looking forward to work with any professionals that are passionate about their products and the stories they can tell us.
