| Description | The Association of Translators and Interpreters Ireland was formed in 1986. It is the only professional association in Ireland representing the interests of practising translators and interpreters. The ATII promotes the highest standards within the profession. Its members are required to sign up and adhere to the ATII Code of Practice and Professional Ethics and, where applicable, the Code of Ethics for Community Interpreters. The ATII endeavours to foster an understanding among translation and interpretation clients of the highly-skilled and exacting nature of the professions. In addition to providing guidance to Association members, the ATII acts in an advisory capacity to Government bodies, the Garda Síochána (Police), NGOs, the media and others involved in the provision of translation and interpreting services. |
