Spanish term

con inclusión y desplazamiento posterior de los implantes

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)

Encontré en la red: "the implant is pushed back against the chest wall and the breast is pulled forward over it"

desplazamiento = displacement
implantes = implants, breast implants
Proyecciones estándar = standard projections

¿Me podrían ayudar con la expresión? Muchas gracias por adelantado

Discussion

Muriel Vasconcellos May 13, 2010:
You've answered your own question There are two approaches to inserting breast implants: the one described here, and another (more common, less expensive) one in which the implant is merely placed under the skin, making for a more artificial look.

standard views with the implant in place and with the implant pushed back

I think it might mean that in one image the implant is in place (inclusión), and in the other the implant is pushed black. Regardless, i think I would use view for "proyección"

In all cases, instead of the two standard views taken for each breast, four views should be done. And if possible, in one of the views the implant should be pushed back against the chest wall allowing the breast tissue to be pulled forward while imaged. This technique may improve evaluation in as much as 92 percent of patients.
