Spanish term

resonancia

Spanish to English Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. Corporate Social Responsibility

'reverberation' unfortunately lacks the necessary positive connotations, 'resonance' is a false friend, while 'impact' doesn't start with an R. Can anyone come up with something better? Thank you!

Discussion

Henry Hinds Apr 6, 2015:
All beginning with the same letter We sometimes come across these lists, and when translating it is usually impossible to come up with equivalents starting with the same letter. Thus you must discard the same letter concept and go with proper equivalents. Think of how you could use the same letter when translating into Chinese, Arabic or another language using a non-Latin alphabet.

reach

It is a shame "impact" doesn't start with 'r' isn't it! However, in its absence I think you could get away with using "Reach":

REACH of the social work that we do so that it impacts on as many people as possible

resonation

A possible alternative to resonance, with perhaps fewer technical implications: "to resound or cause to resound" (Dictionary.com)

resonance

¿Por qué no?

Desde Miriam Webster:

a : the intensification and enriching of a musical tone by supplementary vibration
b : a quality imparted to voiced sounds by vibration in anatomical resonating chambers or cavities (as the mouth or the nasal cavity)
c : a quality of richness or variety
d : a quality of evoking response <how much resonance the scandal seems to be having — United States News & World Report>

Prefiero d base del contexto.
