English term

microstar

English Other Gaming/Video-games/E-sports Sports Games
Sample sentence:

They won't recognize the coach even with a microstar of his.

It is about a lack of recognition of the hard work of a coach. When his team wins, his players are celebrated. When he gets a losing streak, he is the one to be fired first. What is microstar in this context?

It is a figurine ... I used my last resort: asking the client. They said it was a kind of figurine, and it was usually players that got "figured". E.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CORINTHIAN-Microstar-football-Soc...

So, thanks Lorena, Phil, Oliveira, and of course David for your responses to this question.

Erich I have never heard of microstar, I am wondering whether this is a transcription of something somebody said (i.e. a coach during an interview) and the transcriber misheard "megastar" which is a term that comes up a lot when talking about sports figures (at least in the US)

Hi Erich Where is this from?

Erich It sounds like your question can be more appropriately addressed by the client. That's what I would suggest. Good luck.
