Spanish term
cocina de campaña carrozada
Spanish to English
Tech/Engineering
Engineering: Industrial
Military cooker
Can anyone please tell me how to say this in English? This is the context:
La empresa fue fundada por Don XXXX, quien captó la necesidad de las Brigadas de Montaña del Ejército Español de tener un servicio de comedor para los soldados en campaña cuando se encontraban en lugares inaccesibles.
En respuesta a esta necesidad, XXXXX diseñó una cocina de campaña de gas transportable sobre mulas.
Dos años después del lanzamiento de este producto pionero, XXXXX introdujo, en 1971, una cocina de campaña carrozada,
capaz de preparar comidas para 500 soldados.
Thank you for any help

Note from asker:
My problem is not the "Field kitchens" but the "carrozada." |
Does "carrozada" mean "containerized"? |

: "Field kitchens" was the idea that occurred to me too. I think the mobile/portable part may even be redundant, don't you think?

: For "carrozado" leave mobile, as I think it means wheeled, carrocería being "bodywork"

Comment: "I have added "on wheels" because of the comments about the method of transporting the field kitchen @bigedsenior. Thank you very much for your help."

As I said before, I think it must mean that this new type of field kitchen constituted the body of either a trailer or a motorised vehicle; I don't know which. Maybe "vehicle-mounted" would be a solution. I don't think "mobile" will do. A horse-drawn carriage is mobile, but is not "carrozada".
I don't believe it means containerized, because of the date; I find it inconceivable that in 1971, when Franco was still alive, Spain had containerized field kitchens. Containerization came later, even in other countries. Given that "carrozar" means mounting a body on a motor vehicle, I think this refers to a motorized or trailer-mounted field kitchen. I'm not sure which: whether it was a food truck, a vehicle with a kitchen mounted on the back, or a trailer which could be towed by a vehicle. But I think it must mean that it had wheels and was transported by motor power rather than carried by mules.
