In a report on machine repairs from Spain for translation to British English.

Used in various parts of the document, both as "calar" and "descalar".

"El técnico de xxxx manda construir un soporte sin plano ni dimensiones (xxxx no dispone de planos para todos los elementos auxiliares que se van a necesitar a lo largo del montaje, debiéndose diseñar y construir sobre la marcha) para sujetar las ruedas intermedias cuando se descalan y calan los soportes de rodamientos."

"... terminan las labores de alineación, y se prepara el calado del plato de acoplamiento en el nuevo piñón de alta velocidad, labor que se ejecutará el lunes."

"..., mientras se realizan las labores de calentamiento de plato de acoplamiento hasta 240ºC y calado en el eje rápido."

According to the definitions in paper technical dictionary:

to fasten, to jam, to key, to press on, to set;

--- (escobilla) to adjust; --- (motor) to pack up; --- (un motor) to stall; --- buques, to draw; --- las escobillas, (electricidad), to advance the brushes; --- los cojinetes, to line up the brasses, --- velas, to draw.

'Calado' in the third quote would be mount, or assemble.
