Spanish term

CAMBIO DE REENVÍOS / MÁXIMOS REENVÍOS

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Hi all,

I am working on some general documents about cranes and there is a tricky bit, which is giving me some difficulty. It is:

SI LA GRÚA VA A TRABAJAR INDISTINTAMENTE CON CAMBIO DE REENVÍOS (2 / 4 reenvíos, 2 / 6 reenvíos ó 4 / 8 reenvíos) LAS LIMITACIONES DE GANCHO ARRIBA Y GANCHO ABAJO SE HARÁN CON EL GANCHO EN POSICIÓN DE MÁXIMOS REENVÍOS.

Could somebody please explain what the concept is here? Would the correct translation be "reeving changes" / "maximum reeving position"?

Thanks,
Nick

changing pulley block combinations/highest combination

Pully blocks are made up of one or more sheaves/reeves. There is a upper and lower pulley block and the larger number of sheaves used increases the lifting power of a crane/hoist/winch. But does it both at the expense of the amount of cable/rope needed, which adds to the load, and the time required to hoist the load.

For this reason, for efficiency it is best to the use the combination that is most suitable for the load and that means changing the pulley block combinations.

'Reenvio' simply means a complex pulley system that changes the force to load ratio. So anything more than a simple pully - one sheave - is a 'reenvio'.

I am not sure 'maximo reenvio' is the right term as the hook height should be the appropriate one for each combination.
