Hi all,
Just looking for suggestions for "durchdringen" in the context below:
"Teilnehmende lernen bestehende, erfolgreiche Anwendungsfälle kennen, durchdringen deren Konzepte sowie Geschäftsmodelle, auf Basis derer sie eigene Lösungsansätze für ihre Organisation entwickeln."
It's text about blockchains, NFTs etc. Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Gavin

I think they may be trying to avoid repeating "lernen". Maybe "explore the underlying concepts".

master / grasp
"Konzepte durchdringen" suggests the concepts behind the applications are not necessarily clear or easy to understand - and therefore need to be "cracked". To strike the right tone while preserving the implication that the concepts aren't necessarily easy ones, I would use "master" or "grasp":
(borrowing Ramey Rieger's phrasing) "Participants will learn about tried-and-true use cases, grasp the concepts and business models behind them and..."

: Like "grasp", not too keen on "master". I reckon simply "understand" or "acquire an in-depth understanding of" would also do the job, depending on how "deep" you want to go.

"get their head around" as an alternative that I absolutely abhor but sadly has become accepted as cute
