The point is that the cued recall is generated as the result of another or previous word or memory, which overlaps onto the other recalled memory, which is the one that is cued. That is perhaps why the word "cruzado" is used in the source text.

@Barbara There is no ‘prompt’ in the context of the test of recuerdo cruzado.
The interviewee begins by repeatedly reading and recalling the two lists ‘A’ and ‘B’ until they have remembered all the list items correctly.
Then, after a pause (time for short-term memory to falter or fail), comes the recuerdo cruzado test in which they are asked to attribute the words to list ‘A’ or list ‘B’ – relying only on their recollection from the previous readings of those lists.

You haven't given the full context, but it appears to be some kind of memory test where people are shown information and asked to recall it. It"s also not clear what the four "lecturas" or the "listas" are.

I just think the literal "cross-recall" seems the simplest and most obvious choice.

I'm glad you understand what the "lecturas" and "listas" are - perhaps you could tell us. I think a simple, literal translation is likely to be correct - what are you suggesting?
