English term

cut-off

English to Arabic Social Sciences Psychology Cyberpsychology علم النفس السيبراني
The second issue relates to the cut-off of what determines pathological (vs. ‘normal’) use. Studies in the area of pathological technology use typically apply polythetic classifications to determine this. For example, for an addiction scale with 10 items rated on a 5-point Likert scale (where 1= ‘strongly disagree’, 3 = ‘neither disagree nor agree’, and 5 = ‘strongly agree’), a participant would have to respond ‘neither disagree nor agree’ (3) or higher on more than five items on the scale to be classed as an ‘addict’.
