Context, please! Some clarifying context would be most helpful and appreciated.

If a military force is being landed onto an objective area via parachute drop [paratroops jump from transport aircraft in flight and descend via opened parachutes], then the equivalent terms [in "U.S. Military English"] would be [1] "air drop" or [2] "airborne assault" or [3] "airborne landing."

If a force otherwise is being inserted with the troops riding inside helicopters which deliver the troops by landing in assigned zones, then the standard US military terms would be "air assault" or "airmobile assault."

I understand that the British Army uses slightly-different terms for both of those operations when conducting "forcible entry" into an objective area.
