Discussion

Mohsen Askary Jan 14, 2013:
If you think that the reader does not understand the word "Allah" you would better explain it whether in footnote or in the text.
Trns Jan 14, 2013:
This seems like a Muslim author writing on atheism. اللاهوت could be translated as deity, الإلــه as God, and الله as Allah, since the author adds Islamic commentary.
alishah63 (asker) Jan 14, 2013:
This is a sample of text

Note from asker:
the translation is in relation to atheism so there is a lot of God word not only Allah if you know what I mean.

God

I think "God" is more appropriate if your material refers to deity in general and not exclusively to Allah from an Islamic point of view.

agree Lucinda Wills : In this case, I would agree with using "God". The choice would depend on the target audience, whether a general interfaith audience or a specific Muslim audience. In the latter case I would use "Allah".

Allah, the God of Muslims

You said your translation as in relation with atheism I think this term is more understandable.

Also: The God of Muslims
Peer comment(s):

neutral sktrans : Christian Arabs also call God Allah!

agree Mujeeb Rahman : I strongly disagree. Allah is not the God of Muslims, but it is the Arabic word for God. The Arabic word "Allah" can be translated as "God" or "The Real God." In the Arabic version of Genesis (Bible) you can see في البدء خلق الله السماوات والأرض and etc.
