Hi, I understand the literal meaning of this phrase, but what does it really mean? Would the English equivalent be "playing with fire"?

The context is 美联储与狼共舞.

TIA for any suggestions!

Faust? 与邪恶同唱一调 - Faustian?
Jia Du (X) Dec 24, 2008:
美联社与狼共舞,可能是说美联社与邪恶同唱一调。所以这里可以翻成 Dance with devil
Wing-Sze Ho Dec 24, 2008:
Claque? This could be a claque of the English "Dancing with wolves"? I'm not even sure what 'dancing with wolves' would mean exactly as an English idiom; but I am having a hard time finding an entry in an authoritative source that uses 狼 exactly in that way in Chinese. I can logically infer from context what it could mean, but my 'ear' doesn't hear it. It could have been adapted after the famous movie? Just a thought.
