Discussion

Sorry! In the second instance, the system cannot possibly have trust. It should be "The degree to which Taiwan motor vehicle distributors have goodwill trust and competence trust of the demand chain electronic system proposed by the vehicle supplier."
wherestip Apr 29, 2006:
That's true. You could consider weiwei suggestion, or resort to a different term like "user friendliness" in the 2nd instance. IMHO it's tough to come up with a single term that fits both places

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you for all your help and suggestions. This is what I found: "Das and Teng (2001) identify two dimensions of trust in interorganisational collaboration: competence trust and goodwill trust. Competence trust refers to the partners’ ability to act according mutual agreements and goodwill trust refers to the partners’ intention to do so." Hence I have translated as "namely competence trust that the vehicle suppliers possess professional capabilities, goodwill trust that they will add value, and goodwill trust that they will increase efficiency" in the first instance and "The degree to which Taiwan motor vehicle distributors believe that the demand chain electronic system proposed by the vehicle supplier has goodwill trust and competence trust." in the second instance. facilitates

I think the Chinese usage is very localized, and if not, specialized. From the context I would suggest "facilitate" as a verb

--------------------------------------------------

or promote as in 促进

Another option is to use the term "amicable to" in the 1st sentence, and then "amicability" in the 2nd.

also "conducive" and "conduciveness"
Note from asker:
Thank you very much for your help, Wherestip. Your suggestion works fine for the 1st context but not the 2nd context.

Willingness
