Yo sugeriría un pequeño cambio... Es mejor utilizar "Archivo" en singular y no en plural, pues Archivos da la sensación de archivos en general, mientras que en el contexto, Archivo se refiere a información que no está activa en el sistema, característica que se usa cuando para optimizar el almacenamiento principal, la información que es poco usada o por antiguedad se ubica en otra zona "de Archivo".

Hello Carlos Cayetano:

Your question is about the translation to Spanish of the expression “archive storage / active storage ”on the context “...applications that require on-demand performance, scalability and the ability to move from archive storage to active storage...”

BILINGUAL VOCABULARY (related to the context)

1) English expression “archive” = in Spanish “archivo”, “archivos”

2) English expression “storage ” = in Spanish “almacenamiento”

3) English expression “active” = in Spanish “activo”

To translate the expression “archive storage / active storage” to Spanish, we have to put again in the context: “...applications that require on-demand performance, scalability and the ability to move from archive storage to active storage...”

After that, from the complete context, we have to take the part that says: “…the ability to move from archive storage to active storage…”.

The subject is storage systems (hardware and software) for corporate solutions.

According to the context, we see that one of the providers of the storage systems – IBM, EMC, Hitachi Data Systems... – is offering a storage solution that according to the material that you have to translate has the ability to move/transfer information/data/files from an archive storage to an active storage.

This ability requires hardware (hard disk + flash memory storage) and the software that provides all the techniques and procedures to make storage virtualization.

In this framework we can translate your expression in the following way:

The translation to Spanish is: “(transferir/mover) información del almacenamiento de archivos al almacenamiento activo.”

PROPOSAL:

- “(transferir datos/información) del almacenamiento de archivos al almacenamiento activo”

I hope this analysis helps you in your work.

Regards

Domingo
