English term
below grade activities
English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering
Construction
This term appears in a document entitled "Asset Disposition Guidelines" for industrial, commercial and residential sites, more specifically in a series of items headed "General Conditions/Requirements":
- Indemnification/Release
- Restriction for Water Wells
- Existing Water Wells Plugged
- Vapor Ventilation System installed for below grade activities
- Slab-on-Grade Construction Only
- Impervious Liner Installed
- Engineering Controls
etc.
I'm wondering whether this might mean below ground level, but would be grateful for any help.

: I have to disagree. This issue is more related to BOCA or any other building/construction codes.
