"It was at this time that James joined forces with long-time skateboarding friend Nick Maurer to create Greenskeepers, named in honor of their shared caddy past. A talented guitarist, vocalist and drummer who’d developed a taste for electronic music while living in Germany, Nick soon realized he and James shared a similar philosophy towards music: to bring the fun back to the dance floor."
I need a Turkish explanation for these words but could not find it on dictionaries, probably it is an idiomatic expression. Can you please tell me some other meanings for these words to help me to find a Turkish translation.

A caddy is the assistant/golf bag carrier etc. for a golfer.
Greenskeeper, the name of their band, is also a term from the world of golf.
Other than that, there is no deeper meaning that I can see.

They had both previously worked as golf caddies at country clubs.
This appears to be the meaning of the phrase.

Not to pick nits, but my answer was registered first (it must have preceded Melanie's by a matter of seconds).
It is a weakness of the system that it is often not clear who answered first since response times are rounded to the nearest minute, but the asker always knows by the order of e-mail notifications he receives....
Best to all.
