Is this sentence grammaticaly correct:

More and more people are talking about and understanding the meaning and the role that beauty olays in modeling.

I mean is it ok to use the present continuous or is it better to use simple present?

Agree with franglish. I know that it's a typo, but watch out for the "Oil of Olay"/Olé in what should be "play" (we all do it).

@ susiq 'Understanding' in this form is only used as a noun. It's 'understand', as Franglish says.

present continuous

This is correct usage, particularly with the "more and more" intensifyer.

Apart from the normal uses of the present continuous there is the "affective" use whic h means it adds an extra slant to the utterance, such as expressing annoyance or some other emotion.

Yes it's grammatically correct, the present continuous is fine. But it does sound a bit awkward. I would separate 'and understanding' off with commas, or even with em dashes. The sentence has a lot of 'and' phrases, doesn't read terribly well.
