Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Yvonne Gallagher, Helena Chavarria

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Rawhide

Rawhide can refer to the skin of any animal, such as goats, antelope, sheep, etc. Whereas Cowhide refers specifically to the skin of a cow.

cowhide is very tough and isn't really digestible and Rawhide is dehydrated animal skin that has not

Rawhide is dehydrated animal skin that has not been exposed to tanning. The difference between beef hide and rawhide is that rawhide does not have to be made from cattle skin. Rawhide can also be made from the skin of horses, buffalo, or other animals.
However, cowhide is very tough and isn't really digestible. The rawhide that is used for dog treats is the left over hide that is cleaned, cut or ground and is pressed in dog treats with artificial flavoring. It's a cheap treat but has little nutrition.

cowhide versus rawhide

Rawhide is dehydrated animal skin that has not been exposed to tanning. The difference between beef hide and rawhide is that rawhide does not have to be made from cattle skin. Rawhide can also be made from the skin of horses, buffalo, or other animals.

Like beef hide, rawhide for dogs is made from the inner layer of skin. These natural, long-lasting chews offer satisfyingly delicious entertainment and keep dogs busy.

So...is beef hide the same as rawhide? Sort of! Beef hide is rawhide—but rawhide is not always beef hide.

agree Yvonne Gallagher : rawhide =untreated in any way and can be skin/hide from lots of animals (Beware! Not good for dogs as they can choke or it can cause intestinal problems. Never give it to my dogs!)//destructive puppies!
