the Machinery Directive prevails, takes precedence

as this is obviously to do with the manufacture of machinery or a machine manufacturer

the most important Directive therefore is the machinery one

in other words it won't be an Agricultural, Electricity or Food processing or, or... Directive in first place...

as others have pointed out, a comma or two would help

2006/42/EC and, as machine manufacturers, the Machinery Directive is precedent/prevails/takes precedence

2006/42/EC and, being machine manufacturers, the Machinery Directive is precedent/prevails/takes precedence

"takes precedent" is a typo

agree Jack Doughty : I think there should be a comma after "manufacturers"

Thanks Jack, commas certainly help understanding but EU directives are notorious for omitting them...Happy Easter!
agree Tina Vonhof (X) : There should be a subject for 'as machine manufacturers, e.g., as we are machine manufacturers,...'
