English term

friction at/on

English Science Mechanics / Mech Engineering
F is the force of dry friction at/on the axis of the outer gimbal and torque motor.

I'm not exactly sure which of the prepositions I should put here. Please help.

friction acting on

Depends on the context - is it the force of dry friction acting on the axis itself, or the force of dry friction in action at the location of the axis/motor?
Possible cover both suggestions:
"F is the force of dry friction acting on the axis of the outer gimbal and torque motor."

Should read: \"suggestion that could covers both options\" (as opposed to enigmatic \"possible cover both suggestions\").
