The phrase: pump city
Context: Two guys are sitting by the table and drinking coffee. One of them has a dirty cup so he keeps switching it when the other is not looking. So then, the other says:
Now you take back that cup you keep switching. Or it'll be pump city.
I thought of it will burst onto your face (or something like that) but that is probably not it. What does it mean and how to express it (in different words)?

Pump(s) = style of footwear
Pumps are a style of footware, I remember these as a kid, they went out of fashion a long time ago but are seeing a revival. (Do a Google search on "pumps, footwear" and watch the hits roll in).
Adding "city" after a word implies somewhere there would be lots of that object. (e.g. pump city = a good kicking)

Comment: "Actually, perhaps he or both of them were wearing this style of footwear! Very funny! Thanks to all!"

A pump action shot gun
If the person has a weapon or is violent, you can be sure he means he will use a pump action shot gun on this person.

Perhaps...
it's a reference to "pumping smebody full of lead", i.e. shooting them - "city" can be used with almost anything to express an extreme degree of something - "If I were getting married in two days you know, puke city" - i.e it would make me sick - (allymcbeal.tktv.net/Episodes4/summaries/10.html - 33k) -
so perhaps the speaker means he'll (metaphorically) kill the other person if he doesn't stop switching the cups?(

: I agree, although IMHO it doesn't necessarily have to involve guns -- it could easily be a therat referring to the use of bare fists.

He is giving him an ultimatum.
Stop switching the cups or I'll kick your ass.
This is another option. I don't know the level or whom you are addressing but this is a possibility.

I will hit you
What I understand is that, if the first guy keeps giving the second guy the dirty cup, this second guy will punch the first one in the face.
It's a threat, something along the lines of "I'll hit you/break your face/whatever".
Hope that helps.

\"to pump\" meaning \"to hit\" [by way of muscles developed by \"pumping iron\"]. I\'m almost sure that\'s the sense...

It could also mean kill, of course, as the other two answers.
The degree of the threat depends on the context: the relationship between the two guys, etc...
Is this a movie? a game? who are the characters?

This, of course, has the same meaning as \"to punch\".

Hi! I just thought of another thing:
The reference to \"city\", as John pointed out, it\'s used with another thing (usually a noun) to express an extreme degree of something. And this is similar to appending \"-ville\" to the end of another word, as in:
Talking about a couple who just broke up --> \"They are splitsville.\"
CNN.com - It\'s splitsville for Barbie and Ken - Feb. 12, 2004
... US. Offbeat News. It\'s splitsville for Barbie and Ken. Couple \'will remain friends,\'
says Mattel. Barbie stands alone in a Los Angeles, California, store. ...

Even Webster points this out:
http://webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=cit...
city:
4 slang -- used with a preceding adjective or noun naming an abundant or quintessential feature or quality <the movie was shoot-out city>
http://webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=vil...
ville:
: place, category, or quality of a specified nature <dullsville>
Hope that clarifies it further for you ;-)

Thanks! The way I see it, it's a beating, with what? I don't know... could be the guy's fists, could be a kicking, could be he'll hit him with the same cup (assuming it's porcelain or something hard).
