I took the 14" hats on a loud (except for the way-down-low-while-the-singer-talks-and-pours-water-on-her-head parts) gig, and they delivered the low and dirty tick-tick and full bite of ***simulated Bonhamicity***. They were 100 percent of what was needed, much better than the various sets of rental cymbals that were, well, various.

Dear English-speaking colleagues!

Could anybody let me know what on earth this could be? There are no Google hits at all...
Could it somehow refer to John Bonham, the Led Zeppelin drummer? He did use Paiste cymbals, so... But then again, what does this "Bonhamicity" mean?

This is an article from the DRUM! magazine.

I'll appreciate any suggestions!

in the style/with the sound of John Bonham

I'd understand it to mean this. Bonham was famous for his distinctive drumming style.

Here, I'd say they mean the sound produced by the cymbals was similar to that produced by Bonham's drumming.

agree Ken Cox : yep, the Bonham effect -- an informal construction corresponding to an informal style of writing

agree Will Matter : Absolutely right. A clear reference to the distinctive and remarkable style and ability of the late, great John Bonham. I still remember when he died (tragic!) and his son is now a pretty darned good drummer himself.
