English term

stumble with

English Art/Literary Religion Creationism
A lot of people ***stumble with*** the creation account in the Old Testament, because they’ve been conditioned to think that it presents a view of creation that’s so much at odds with modern scientific ideas about creation, and there are those out there that say the Bible teaches a six day, 24-hour creation followed by a 24-hour period of rest — a seven-day creation week. In other words, they interpret the text in a highly literalistic way and that seems so much at odds with what scientists are discovering.

"they interpret the text in a highly literalistic way" and this just doesn't tally (conform to) scientific notions

neutral Christopher Schröder : I don’t think it’s as strong as disagree, even though that is the upshot of it

upshot, yes
neutral AllegroTrans : agree with previous comment - you have overtranslated // OK, but euphemism in = euphemism out
