Latin term

datum ex aedibus academicis die VI

Latin to English Art/Literary Education / Pedagogy
date on the diploma. The exact date is easy for me to translate so I do not include it.

given by (lit., 'out of') the academic house on the sixth day

'Aedibus academicis' is another example of the tortured late Mediaeval style still in vogue for Latin diplomas.

This is the literal meaning, at its face value, but sorry to say, I can't imagine any context.

Nevetheless, 'ex' with the ablative is used even by the best classical authors to express origin.

agree Elena Lemeneva : I'd rather translate aedibus academicis as by the academic institution than a house

I see your point, but the rigid and awkward style of 'diplomatic' Latin induces me to prefer the traditional, if archaic, rendering.
